The Founder of Cardano (ADA) Shared the Latest Update About the New Project, which is highly anticipated!

Cardano altcoin founder Charles Hoskinson shared an update on the initiative he launched in Ethiopia last year.

In 2021, Cardano developer company IOG signed a partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Education to create a national achievement registration system.

According to Charles Hoskinson’s Statement, Cardano (ADA) Based Identity Cards Have Been Used in Ethiopia

According to the article shared by Cardano founder, federal education authorities in Ethiopia have started implementing digital identity (ID) for students and teachers as part of the nationwide Blockchain-based program.

Data entry is scheduled to begin next month, according to Zelalem Assefa, the ministry’s director of ICT and digital education. About twenty public schools were selected to participate in the program.

Last year, the Ethiopian Minister of Education approved a partnership with IOG to provide digital ID cards to 5 million students and 750,000 teachers in 3,680 schools.

IOG later admitted to working on the code in question and set this year as the projected launch date for the project.

The IDs, which will be launched at primary and secondary school levels and later in higher education institutions, will be tied to a registration system that will be used to verify grades and monitor academic performance remotely.

Authorities expect half a million IDs to be issued by the end of this year. This initiative includes a national digital identity program that aims to provide digital identity to 10 million citizens this year. Fewer than 100,000 IDs have been registered so far.
