Dusseldorf Do you know the “January Effect” on the stock market? This is a seasonal anomaly in the stock markets that, like many other processes, no one can explain exactly. The January effect ensures that the leading German index Dax rises on average in the first trading month of the year. According to the Statista Research Department, the average increase is 0.71 percent.

The possible explanations for this development: At the beginning of the year, new investment ideas appear that can be used to persuade one or the other investor to buy. In addition, there is often enough money for new investments from bonus payments made at the end of the previous year.
