Dusseldorf The controversial gas allocation apparently has another critical design flaw. The levy, which should save troubled gas traders from insolvency, is not only used by companies that do not need state aid. These could even try to generate additional profits with the levy, as it is said in industry circles.

The companies could therefore charge higher costs than they actually have. The Handelsblatt is aware of at least one case in which a company wants to try this.

The gas surcharge is intended to compensate importers for having to replace missing gas supplies from Russia on the market at significantly higher prices. How much money the dealers get should be calculated based on the daily updated prices of the respective month.
