Volkmar Denner is a physicist who did his doctorate in 1985 at the University of Stuttgart. And he has always remained so out of conviction and passion. Born in Uhingen in 1956, after graduating from high school in 1975 in Stuttgart, he began studying physics, took his diploma in 1981 and went to the USA for a research stay.
A successful career as a professor of theoretical solid state physics would have been conceivable for him, at least Volkmar Denner flirted with it. And given his ability to think analytically and critically, his creativity and determination, his life path might have led to groundbreaking discoveries in basic research.
But first he started “at Bosch” in 1986 as a specialist in the development of power semiconductors. His other stations – semiconductor technology, integrated circuits, control devices and semiconductors – read retrograde as a perfect preparation for the emerging upheaval in the automotive industry: e-mobility and (partially) autonomous driving. And so are they.
