When Advent begins, it is often not only contemplative, but just as hectic. In the stressful weeks leading up to Christmas, it’s important to take a little break.

The epoch between the Peace of Westphalia and the end of the Napoleonic Wars is referred to as the “Age of Enlightenment”. That’s not wrong either, because reason and rationality now began their triumphal procession.
