Dusseldorf The leading German index Dax has risen for eight weeks in a row. Now this impressive series is broken. The Frankfurt stock exchange barometer closed the past trading week only 0.1 percent down at 14,529 points, but this development sends a signal: The air is getting thinner for the Dax.
This does not mean that the index will now crash. But at least it means that there are not enough buyers at the current level to move the price up as dynamically as in the past eight weeks. It went up by around 20 percent to up to 14,585 points. Since then it has gone sideways.
The current development can be explained with a calculation from financial mathematics. It also shows what needs to happen for the Dax to continue its upward trend.
