The 25 stocks that entered the May 14 elections the fastest

The stock market followed a rather indecisive course before the presidential and parliamentary elections. On Thursday, we saw the sales of those who did not want to take risks, as opposed to foreign investors who bought after the election with very fast purchases from banks and holdings on Friday. Although foreigners continued their purchases in banks on Friday, we met with very hard sales in other index shares. Of course, the effects of the swaps were very high in these movements, which were reflected in the Bist100 index and experienced in the last day.

Beware of the contradiction between spot stocks and ViOP!

What do we mean by swaps? It is very clear: the payment of the share purchases made on Thursday will take place on Monday, that is, after the election (4 days after the purchase of the shares). Therefore, it is useful to closely monitor the response of these purchases on the ViOP side. It is possible to match the reverse positions taken with leveraged transactions with the spot market. In other words, hedge possibilities are followed with short positions in ViOP against this buying movement in the spot.

Sales made on Friday will be paid on Tuesday. There is a similar situation here. In other words, a market with very strong fluctuations may meet us after the election.

On the day that the ki spot market fell by 0.95 percent, the evening close of ViOP was up 0.56 percent. This is another sign that hedges are heavy.

Banks and holdings carried Borsa İstanbul to the election

Now, let’s talk about which stocks are mostly bought in election scenarios on the spot side. If we consider the whole last week as an election pricing week, İşbank C, ISCTR shares, are at the top of the stocks that gained the most value of the week. The stock, which has gained only 17 percent since the beginning of the year, has already provided all of this return, or even more, with foreign purchases in the last week.

After a bank share representing foreign purchases, the second share in the top is Özerden Plastik, OZRDN share movement.

EGPRO and then again the GARAN share movement, a BIST-100 banking stock like Garanti Bank. We are faced with the share movement of Dagi Investment Holding and, this time, a holding that has increased with foreign purchases, KCHOL. AKBNK, YKBNK bank shares follow.
