Berlin The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (Bafa) promises quick decisions to heat pump buyers. “Applications currently received by Bafa are now being processed within a few days,” said a Bafa spokesman.
Applicants can therefore expect to receive feedback at short notice in this first stage of the procedure, i.e. when it comes to the basic funding commitment. Exceptions are complex applications, such as funding applications for building and heating networks, which are much more complex to process
Applicants must have a little more patience in the second stage of the procedure. In this, specific evidence, such as invoices, must be checked. The processing time here is “around eight weeks,” said the spokesman.
Bafa is responding to criticism over the past few weeks by promising to speed up the processing of applications. For example, the German Environmental Aid (DUH) spoke of a “bureaucratic nightmare” in the promotion of heat pumps and building renovation.
