Tesla Model Y (2021) in the Handelsblatt car test: price, horsepower, speed

Cologne I actually expect to make an impression with the latest model from the prestigious Tesla brand. After all, the expensive cars of the US electrical pioneer are still rare enough on German roads that almost every Tesla driver on the way happily raises a hand in greeting. But when I drive up to a friend’s house in the test car, his spontaneous reaction speaks more of skepticism than admiration: “It looks kind of inflated.”

For five days I am on the road with Model Y, driving it out of the Düsseldorf rush hour traffic into the parked Cologne, later on the autobahn to Aachen and on the country road to the Eifel. Only in the course of the test phase do I realize how accurate my friend’s first judgment is.
