Tensor 2 processor features revealed!

In the I/O event organized by Google in the past period, some devices were introduced as well as the latest versions of the software. Undoubtedly, it was the new Pixel 7 series that attracted the most attention here. But today, some details about the Tensor 2 processor and its features seem to upset those who are waiting.

Tensor 2 features revealed: It lags behind the competitors!

Although many devices, including the Pixel 7 series, were introduced at the I/O event, no features were actually shown. We even got a clearer idea when one of the prototypes went up for sale on eBay. But only what awaits us on the design side has emerged. However, expectations on the Tensor 2 processor and its features have also increased.

Today, in one of the leaks about the device, it was seen that the new Tensor 2 uses the Cortex-A55 core. Of course, the new architecture called ARMv9 joined us. However, since we will not be able to see two production technologies in one chip, it has been understood that the new chip will come with ARMv8 architecture. In other words, we understand that no improvement has been made on the technology used in the Pixel 6 series.

Google Pixel 7 Pro was seen bloody live!

There are new developments about the Google Pixel 7 series, which was introduced at Google I/O 2022. Finally, Pixel 7 Pro was viewed in blood.

On the other hand, it is known that Tensor 2 will have a total of 8 cores as 2+2+4. However, like the original Tensor, this chip uses two Cortex-X1 and four Cortex-A55 cores. Although the other 2 cores remain unclear, we can see the A78s instead of the Cortex-A76s in its predecessor.

Of course, although mostly the same cores are used, it is possible to see some minor improvements and increases in clock speeds. But those expecting to see a huge performance boost will be disappointed. Because the original Tensor processor was not the fastest when it was first released. For this reason, although a small performance increase will save the day, it will cause the gap between competitors to open.

Finally, let’s say that the leak also includes some information about the screen to be used on the device. The prototype that went on sale included Samsung’s new panel, the S6E3HC4. This means that the S6E3HC3 panel of the Pixel 6 Pro has been replaced. But the resolution of 3120×1440 pixels and the refresh rate of 120 Hz will remain the same.
