Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s arrest in France in recent weeks has revealed the illegal activities in the popular messaging app. Durov, who was held responsible for the illegal activities of users, denied these allegations. According to recent announcements, Telegram will change its stance on illegal content and privacy. Here are the details…
The report button will be available to Telegram users
Durov, who remained silent throughout his detention, eventually broke his silence and it was stated that significant changes would be made. Stating that it was not right to personally blame him for illegal content on the platform, Durov announced that more monitoring would be carried out.

Telegram has reportedly changed its stance and made changes to its FAQ page. Previously preferred by users for its complete privacy focus and protection of private chats from requests, Telegram is starting to take precautions against illegal activities.
Durov acknowledged the allegations, noting that abuse has become easier as the number of users reaches 950 million, and added that steps will be taken to improve the situation. First, Telegram’s FAQ page was amended to include instructions to report illegal content to moderators, with the phrase “All Telegram chats are private between participants and we do not process any requests in this regard.”
Instead of this statement, “All Telegram applications have a Report button where you can flag illegal content to inform moderators.” was added. In this way, it is aimed to block drugs, obscene content, and other illegal content in the application.
