Technology sticker from Otokar for Eurosatory 2024: ALPAR and ARMA II on the world stage!

Eurosatory 2024, Europe’s largest defense industry fair, brought together the giants of the industry. Otokar also made a name for itself by exhibiting the state-of-the-art land systems it developed at the fair. Turkey’s first heavy class tracked unmanned armored vehicle ALPAR and the new generation armored combat vehicle ARMA II appeared on the world stage for the first time.

Otokar General Manager Aykut Özüner stated that increasing global threats have increased interest in the defense industry and that Otokar is ready to play a strategic role in meeting Europe’s defense needs.

Özüner emphasized that production quality at NATO standards, fast delivery and effective after-sales services make Otokar stand out. Collaborations, especially with Eastern European countries, show Otokar’s increasing influence in the region. The 6×6 armored vehicle supply agreement signed with Estonia and the ongoing negotiations with Romania prove Otokar’s success in this field.

It makes the enemy swallow his little tongue: Heavy class unmanned Otokar Alpar has been introduced!

Otokar introduced its Alpar heavy class tracked unmanned armored vehicle at the press conference held at its factory in Sakarya.

Otokar Defense Industry Deputy General Manager Sedef Vehbi stated that more than 33 thousand Otokar vehicles are actively operating in more than 40 countries and that the vehicles have proven themselves in different geographies and challenging conditions.

Vehbi expressed his belief that innovative platforms such as ALPAR and ARMA II will set new standards in the industry. ALPAR is of great importance as it shows the point Turkey has reached in the field of unmanned ground vehicles. Drawing attention with its maximum loaded weight of 15 tons, ALPAR can operate autonomously and with remote control.

Its low thermal signature, air transportability and quick-change battery infrastructure make ALPAR even more effective on the battlefield. The mini unmanned ground vehicle that ALPAR can carry expands its mission range.

ALPAR, which can be adapted to many different missions such as advanced reconnaissance, surveillance, fire support, logistics support, air defense and anti-tank, creates a solid bridge between manned and unmanned systems on the battlefield.

Designed according to the changing dynamics of today’s battlefields, ARMA II offers superior protection and mobility against asymmetric threats. Drawing attention with its maximum loaded weight of 40 tons, ARMA II can carry heavy weapon systems up to 120 mm.

The 720 HP engine used in the vehicle provides high performance even in difficult terrain conditions. ARMA II was designed as a multi-functional platform such as an armored combat vehicle, armored personnel carrier, command and control vehicle and air defense vehicle. Thanks to its large internal volume, it offers a suitable platform for different tasks such as maintenance-repair and ambulance.
