Thanks to the rapid steps taken one after another in the field of aviation by domestic defense industry companies, Turkey became the world’s top UAV-SIHA seller in 2022. We get news of new vehicles every day. Finally, the first images for the MIUS-unmanned warplane, which was secretly developed by TAI, were shared.

TAI MIUS- unmanned warplane appeared!

There is a certain route that Turkey follows on the aviation side. Undoubtedly, the most important vehicles here are the Hürjet, which will make its first flight next March, and the MMU, which is targeted to be included in the inventory within 5 years.

But there is also the unmanned side of things. Here, on the other hand, there are UAV, SİHA, TİHA and MIUS systems developed by Baykar and TUSAŞ. Of course, the unmanned aerial vehicles developed to date have become famous all over the world with their proven operational capabilities in the field and international export success.

Bayraktar Akıncı, who is preparing to shoulder the burden of F-16s in the coming period, made his first shot with the Gökçe Guidance Kit…

Today, however, since a certain level of technology has been reached and even among the pioneers of this business in the world, the focus is on vehicles that are slightly larger, can go much faster and are developed for different usage scenarios.

The first of these was Bayraktar Kızılelma with a take-off weight of 6 tons. When this vehicle, which comes from Ukraine and has different versions using domestic engines produced by TEI, enters the inventory, the war history will change once again, just like the Anka and TB2s.

It is known that TAI has had an eye on this field since 2012. In fact, when the first Anka UAVs were delivered, it was announced that the next target was TİSU-MİUS. Of course, neither a drawing, nor a mockup nor its features were revealed until today’s post.

According to the information released recently, TAI has secretly completed this MIUS-unmanned warplane. In fact, it is said that tests have been carried out for a while. This vehicle, which has a take-off weight of 7 tons, is expected to accelerate to Mach 0.7 and to use the delta wing form to reduce radar visibility. As a matter of fact, the first images that emerged confirm this.

For the first flight, the months of next March and April are indicated. In fact, Bayraktar Kızılelma broke new ground by taking off before the end of 2022. So we won’t have to wait long to see two MIUSs flying side by side.

note: Images were shared by Yeni Şafak, not TAI.
