Student Projects that caught our eye at Teknofest 2023

We also took a closer look at the projects developed by teams from many universities in the Istanbul leg of Teknofest 2023. We have brought together for you the most striking of these projects that will contribute to the Turkey of the future.

starting April 27 To Teknofest Istanbul 2023 we joined. Although the masterpieces of the defense industry are the main focus of the festival, the aim was to inspire our youth, as in every Teknofest. We focused on students who laid the foundations of our future.

We took a look at each project in the festival area, where dozens of universities exhibited their projects on their stands, and got detailed information about their projects. In this content, we repeat some of these projects. To inspire our young people reading this article. we share.

What caught our eye at Teknofest 2023:

Vehicles:

  • It is necessary to open a separate topic for this tool. This armed and remotely controlled vehicle was developed by Erdem Software Anatolian High School students.

technofest

  • This vehicle of Kocaeli University is a racing vehicle. ‘COFS02’, which has already proven itself in the international arena between universities, can go from 0 to 100 in 6.5 seconds and produces 65 horsepower. The engine of the vehicle is internal combustion.

technofest

  • This racing vehicle, developed by Yıldız Technical University, has already achieved victory in the competition in the Czech Republic in 2021.

technofest

  • Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, on the other hand, has developed the vehicle that we see above, which is more suitable for land use.

technofest

  • Ankara University, on the other hand, already has many awards with this tool it has developed. The vehicle is fully electric.

technofest

  • Altınbaş University’s vehicle you see above is not actually a new vehicle. The fully autonomous version of the vehicle they developed in 2018, ‘Eva-Autonomous’. Thanks to its sensors, Eva-Autonomous moves by itself and manages to cover the 200-kilometer road with only 1 TL expense. It also offers up to 3 hours of driving.

Unmanned aerial vehicles:

technofest

  • ‘Dagger’, developed by Kocaeli University, can fulfill the task given completely autonomously. Moreover, it transmits the image it obtains to the ground much more efficiently than its other competitors. Hançer also managed to win the Most Original Software awards in the Fighting UAV competition.

technofest

  • ‘Sarsılmaz’, developed by another team from Kocaeli University, is a motorized and armed VTOL vehicle. It has vertical take-off and landing capability. The vehicle offers 30-35 minutes of flight time for now.

technofest

  • This UAV developed by Altınbaş University is fully autonomous. The vehicle goes to the given coordinate and returns safely. It can reach an altitude of 1.5 kilometers.

technofest

  • Developed by Istanbul Technical University students, this SİHA came in third place in the ‘Combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition’ and won a support award of 100 thousand TL.

Rockets:

technofest

  • The ‘Space’ rocket developed by Kocaeli University students enables to perform delivery missions at medium altitudes.

technofest

  • The ‘EVA-X’ rocket developed by Altınbaş University can reach a height of 10 thousand feet and delivers. In addition, the launch part of the rocket falls back to the earth with a parachute and can be used again. It can reach an altitude of 3.5 kilometers and a maximum speed of 286 meters / second.

technofest

  • This rocket, developed by Pamukkale University youth, became the winner of the ‘Vertical Landing Rocket Competition’ at Teknofest 2023 and deserved a prize of 100 thousand TL. The rocket parachutes to Earth so it can be reused and delivers at mid-altitude.

Water and underwater vehicles:

technofest

  • Developed by young people from Karadeniz Technical University, this watercraft has already managed to attract the attention of defense industry companies. Our students shared that although the company did not reveal its name, they have already started taking orders for this rocket-firing vehicle and they have started mass production.

technofest

  • Developed by Ege University students, MV Savarona 2 managed to come second in Turkey in the ‘ROBOİK Unmanned Surface Prototype Competition’ in 2022. The semi-autonomous vehicle completes the task with its own decision mechanism in places that will endanger human life.

technofest

  • ‘Algae’, developed by Kocaeli University Aura Team, is an underwater vehicle. The vehicle works completely without human control and can perform its assigned tasks underwater.

technofest

  • This underwater vehicle developed by Karadeniz Technical University won the first place in Teknofest competitions in 2018 and 2019. The device offers 4K images and has the potential to be actively used in underwater search and rescue works, hydroelectric power plants and fish farms.

Agricultural technologies:

technofest

  • Developed by Ankara University students, ‘Yasun’ adds machine learning to our lives in the fight against weeds. The vehicle can run smoothly in all terrains and weather conditions, and is home to two 600 Watt motors.

technofest

  • ‘Greenguard’ offers a solution to one of the biggest problems of agriculture by weeding and spraying. The device operates completely autonomously.

Other surprises:

technofest

  • Developed by the youth of Yozgat Bozok University, this device aims to make life easier for visually impaired people. It includes a temperature and generation sensor, a camera module, a vibration module, and a speaker.
