Star DJ Felix Jaehn – “I am happy that I can live and love freely”

Musician, producer and star DJ Felix Jaehn (27, “Ain’t Nobody”, “Cheerleader”) feels finally arrived.

He describes his coming out three and a half years ago as incredibly liberating: “Because I have finally shared the secret that I have kept for so long with the world and has been accepted for who I am. I am happy that I have a friend and that I can simply live and love freely, ”Jaehn told the German press agency.

In February, Jaehn confirmed in an interview with Radio ENERGY that he was in a steady relationship with a man for the first time. At that time he said that he had “been in a relationship for a relatively short time” and “of course that really inspires me,” said the 27-year-old.

The two have known each other since last summer, but he does not (yet) reveal who the man by his side is!

Jaehn, who discussed their lives with celebrities in his new podcast “Breathe”, spoke publicly about his bisexuality for the first time in 2018.

In the first episode of his podcast, he welcomed musician and “The Voice of Germany” coach Mark Forster (38).

“There was no one who was openly gay”

For a long time he was afraid of being rejected, he frankly admits: “I grew up in the country. There was no one in school, family or the environment who was openly gay, lesbian or anything like that. So there were no role models, ”explains the musician from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

“Then there are jokes or expressions like ‘fagot’ in the school yard or on the soccer team. If you are 14 or 15, are still unsure yourself and notice that those around you are evaluating this negatively, it is very difficult to stand up and say: ‘I am one too’. “
