Souad Benkredda will be the new head of capital markets at DZ Bank

The 45-year-old will be the new head of capital markets at DZ Bank. It starts on September 1st at the central institute of the cooperative banks.

Frankfurt DZ Bank brings the former Deutsche Bank manager Souad Benkredda to its board. The supervisory board decided on Thursday, as announced by DZ Bank.

Benkredda succeeds Wolfgang Köhler as Head of Capital Markets. The 62-year-old will retire at the end of the year.

With Souad Benkredda, one could win a “very experienced bank manager”, said the head of the supervisory board, Henning Deneke-Jöhrens. Benkredda will start at DZ Bank on September 1st.

The 45-year-old currently works at British bank Standard Chartered, which she joined in 2017. Previously, Benkredda worked in the capital markets business of Deutsche Bank for more than 15 years, including in structuring, sales and customer service in Frankfurt and London. Born in Frankfurt, she studied in Frankfurt and Paris.

DZ Bank is the leading institute of the German Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken and belongs to the almost 800 German cooperative banks. Including its subsidiaries, including the fund company Union Investment, the insurer R+V and the building society Schwäbisch Hall, the money house is the second largest bank in Germany.

Ulrike Brouzi is also part of the team

With Benkredda, two women will belong to the eight-strong DZ Bank Board of Management. Ulrike Brouzi has been CFO since 2018. She came to the comrades from the Landesbank NordLB. The bank is managed by the dual leadership of Uwe Fröhlich and Cornelius Riese.

Köhler has spent his entire professional life in the cooperative financial group. He has been a member of the Management Board of DZ Bank since 2007. “He embodies the self-image of our organization in an exemplary manner,” said Deneke-Jöhrens.

Köhler made a significant contribution to the fact that DZ Bank, as a central bank, is an efficient partner for the cooperative banks. “We are very grateful to him for this achievement over many decades.”
