Job offers around alternative energy sources are booming.

Dusseldorf “Green” jobs are on the rise. On the online job board Indeed, offers with the keyword “environmental protection” have increased by 59 percent compared to three years ago. Reinforcement is sought in all sectors, “for example to develop new electricity storage and drive technologies, to advertise eco-services or to sell sustainable financial products,” says job market expert Krischan Ostenrath from the Bonn Science Shop.
There is a lot to do, especially when it comes to clean and affordable energy. The job offers under the search term “renewable energy” have increased by 121 percent compared to 2019. Since the federal government wants to reduce greenhouse gases by 55 percent by 2030, the trend will continue, says Indeed labor market expert Annina Hering. “The economy will need many well-trained specialists and academics to bring about the energy transition.”
