Vienna Lost past, lost houses and lost professional identity – almost six months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, society in the country has changed. Despite the uncertain future, Ukrainians have shown more solidarity since February 24, and society has more confidence in their existence. Natalia Otrischchenko draws this balance.
The Ukrainian sociologist has been documenting the experiences of numerous citizens of the country since the beginning of the war. “Through the talks, people regain control of their life stories,” explains Otrischchenko. By autumn, a database of 200 conversations will be created at the Center for Urban History in Lviv.
