So many ESG investments: how do I orient myself?

Frankfurt Would you like to consider sustainability in your investments? And if so, how would you like to implement it? According to the will of the EU, investment advisors have had to ask their clients these questions since last August.

If investors want to orient themselves to shares or investment funds, they can fall back on many explanations and evaluations from different providers. However, most of the detailed reviews are not available to private investors. The Handelsblatt gives an overview.

Dealing with “ESG” is also challenging for professional investors. ESG stands for the aspects of environment, social issues and good corporate governance. “I haven’t yet found a rating that I’m finally satisfied with,” admits Kai Hattwich, sustainability expert at Quirin Privatbank, for example.

Gabriele Hartmann, fund manager at the asset manager Perspektive Asset Management, gives one reason for this: “Each evaluation has a different focus, and the topic itself is complex.”
