An unknown person BTC-e cryptocurrency transferred 3,299 Bitcoins (worth about $85.6 at the time of this writing) tied to the exchange.

The Bitcoin transfer, which took place on March 14, was recently spotted on a Russian Telegram channel.

The funds in question had been dormant since November 2022. At the time of this writing, these BTCs were still being split into small amounts and withdrawn through various services.

Blockchain analysis company Crystal Blockchain reported that some of the coins have reached wallets linked to MEXC, Kucoin and BTC2pm exchanges.

The starting address was one of two addresses that received part of 10,000 BTC from the BTC-e linked wallet on November 23, 2022.

The second address may reportedly belong to Alexey Biliuchenko, the manager of WEX (the successor to BTC-e).

To summarize, Biliuchenko was detained in March 2022 in the Moscow region on suspicion of embezzling Bitcoin exchange assets. Russian Interior Ministry officials confiscated about 190 million Rubles from him. This person is currently held in Moscow’s Matrosskaya Tishina prison.
