Main Maintenance Factory Directorate and TRMOTOR came together to develop the domestic power units of the aircraft within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft MMU KAAN Project carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). The target is to domestically produce critical subsystems such as the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Air Turbine Starting System (ATSS).

Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir emphasized that the development of domestic engines for MMU KAAN has an important place in Turkey’s technological independence goal. The parties stated that this agreement will open a new page in Turkey’s aviation history, stating that MMU will not only meet the need for combat aircraft, but also new generation aircraft They stated that they would also provide the necessary infrastructure for production.
