Things are not going well for Helldivers 2, which has been making a big splash all over the world in recent months. The game, which saw a few days of increase in the number of active players, could not get away with it even with the latest update. In fact, developer Arrow Game stated that they could “make the DLC pack better.”
Why is the Helldivers 2 update being criticized?
Arrow Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani addressed criticisms of the Escalation Of Freedom update, saying that many of the changes, such as a new enemy type and a new biome, were well-received, but he also noted dissatisfaction with the balancing changes.

The nerfs made to popular weapons, especially flamethrowers, caused players to be unable to kill enemies despite their best efforts. This even caused the Steam rating to drop to Mixed, receiving thousands of negative reviews.
CEO Jorjani asked for time from players due to the long development time. “Of course I haven’t talked to everyone, but most of us are disappointed on a number of levels. I think more broadly, we are also discussing the path forward and what we can do to avoid this situation again,” he said.
Jorjani also promised to improve communication with the player base to better understand what they want. The goal will be to deliver future updates through continuous improvement, which the company considers a “step in the right direction.”

Jorjani also acknowledged that just talking is not enough, which is why they took action after Escalation Of Freedom.
