It was seen as a major step forward for the Shiba Inu ecosystem from being just a memecoin to offering a way for the Shiba Inu community to access faster and cheaper transactions, greater scalability, and enhanced security.
Shiba Inu developers announced that they are building Shibarium on top of the Ethereum network.
The upcoming launch of the beta version of Shibarium is for testing purposes only. As stated in the introductory blog, Shibarium’s Layer 2 blockchain protocols aim to leverage Metaverse, Web3 innovation and games.
The team has previously mentioned the possibility of going off-chain for more private transactions to attract more users.
The launch of Shibarium is expected to increase the adoption of the SHIB token and strengthen its position as a more serious project. Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama recently said:
“It will allow us to meet with the military and get organized in the process. It will allow us to increase Shibarium’s reach to professional companies and re-establish relationships with businesses we have connected with in the past. Finally, it will help us find the right validators.”
Shibarium will also pave the way for token burns, so that every transaction on the network “will have an implicit burn amount for the SHIB token.”
