The institute, which was once plagued by losses, had its best result in 15 years last year. Thanks to higher interest rates and a flourishing trading business, Germany’s largest financial institution made a profit of five billion euros after 1.94 billion euros a year ago.

The boost in earnings is also reflected in the bonuses. Deutsche Bank will pay a total of 2.1 billion euros in bonuses for 2022 and will thus remain at the level of the previous year.
