Dusseldorf The Munich I public prosecutor’s office has compiled its investigations into the Wirecard scandal in over 700 volumes and stored more than 42 terabytes of data. The result is a 474-page indictment against the long-time CEO Markus Braun and two other former Wirecard managers, which dates back to last Thursday.

The public prosecutor’s office announced these details and others on Monday morning in a detailed press release on the first “indictment in the Wirecard complex”. The Handelsblatt had already reported exclusively on Sunday.

The Munich public prosecutor’s office made it clear how extensive the clarification of the facts was as soon as they received their seven-page statement. “The investigations proved to be extraordinarily difficult and extensive, even compared to previous large-scale commercial proceedings conducted by the Munich I public prosecutor’s office,” the authority said.
