Security Update from Ethereum Wallet MetaMask

Ethereum wallet provider MetaMask has released an update that concerns the security and privacy of both its new and existing users.

According to the statement made by MetaMask, wallet users will have more control over their own data thanks to the features implemented as part of this update.

For example, users will be able to determine for themselves whether user information will be shared with third parties. This feature can be useful for preventing attacks such as phishing attacks.

This update also makes it easier for users to use RPC (remote procedure call) providers. Nodes from RPC providers enable applications like MetaMask to connect to blockchains.

Users can now play with a provider of their choice by adjusting their personal settings, instead of Infura, the standard RPC provider in MetaMask.
