Seattle As the second major US technology group, Amazon is again putting thousands of employees out of the door. The online retailer announced on Monday that it would cut 9,000 jobs. The cloud division AWS, the advertising department and the live streaming service Twitch are particularly affected.

First, the TV station CNBC reported on the plans. At the beginning of the year, the group cut 18,000 jobs because of the gloomy economic outlook.

A few days ago, Facebook parent Meta also announced a second wave of layoffs. Around 10,000 people fell victim to this after a workforce reduction of 11,000 was announced in November.
