Dog squadrons and police helicopters searched for him in the border area for hours – but without success. On Thursday evening he was arrested after all: in a hotel in Amsterdam!

“The extradition of the 42-year-old Turk to Germany is planned. He is accused of smuggling foreigners with death, which is why he has to answer to court in Germany, “said a spokesman for the federal police on Friday.

According to witnesses, the vehicle’s passenger who was also the organizer of the smuggling, a 48-year-old Turk, was arrested immediately after the dead man and the other refugees (all Iraqi citizens) were found.

Since then, the fugitive 42-year-old Turkish driver of the smuggling vehicle has been searched for at high speed. Until the handcuffs finally clicked on Thursday.

22 30 people were crammed into this pickup truck and taken across the border. One Iraqi († 32) of them did not survive the trip
