Nothing has happened since then. Critics accuse Meloni of breaching his word. The Prime Minister explained that a tax cut would only be an option if government revenues also increased – and that was not the case. Meloni has been in office less than three months – and already she is plagued by money problems. The hoped-for economic growth is not in sight. Billions in gas and electricity price cuts will soon expire.
