SAP wants to become a cloud specialist, but shareholders are skeptical. Supervisory Board Chairman Hasso Plattner attests his company technical progress, but deficits in capital market communication.

He talks about the end of his era as chief controller – and reveals what the 28-year-old company founder Hasso Plattner would have thought about today’s SAP group.

Mr. Plattner, SAP is celebrating its 50th anniversary these weeks. How do you celebrate?
There is an event with guests and customers. Is it in the SAP Arena? I do not know. It will be similar to the 40th anniversary, but under worse circumstances.

You can tell you don’t feel like celebrating.
Russia’s attack on the western world is absolutely menacing. By the way, it’s not just Putin, a fairly large part of the Russian people seems to be behind it. Either way, that naturally puts pressure on the mood.
