Munich The industrial gases group Linde is reorganizing its top management: Sanjiv Lamba will take over as CEO from Steve Angel on March 1, 2022, as the company announced on Monday after a board meeting. Angel then succeeds Wolfgang Reitzle as chief controller on the board of directors.

Three years ago, Angel and Reitzle initiated the merger of Linde and Praxair to form the world’s largest gas manufacturer and then carried out the integration largely silently. The next step is the orderly change at the top of the second most valuable Dax group.

According to Angel, he is confident that Linde will maintain the “performance culture” under Lamba’s leadership, aggressively implement the sustainability goals and open up new growth opportunities. Reitzle said it was an honor to work with Linde executives on the executive board and board. He is pleased that Angel will succeed him and Lamba will take over operational management. “Linde couldn’t be in better hands.”
