Samsung relies on “super premium” for smartphones

Dusseldorf Samsung Electronics sells smartphones in all price ranges – thanks to models that are available for less than the equivalent of 200 euros, the market leader sold almost 260 million mobile phones around the world last year. However, the Korean group is gearing its strategy more than ever towards delivering class as well as mass.

There is a “shift towards premium products” in the market, said TM Roh, head of the Mobile Experience division, in an interview with the Handelsblatt. The manager wants to serve this demand – for example with the Galaxy S23 models that are just coming onto the market. The prices in Germany are between 950 and 1820 euros, depending on the device and equipment.
