Samsung Introduces ‘Swipeable’ Screen

South Korean technology giant Samsung demonstrated its scrollable screen technology, which is aimed to be used in the computers of the future. It has not been announced when we will be able to see the screen in a real product.

As display technologies continue to develop day by day, we have now gone beyond just screens and panels providing quality images. Phones with foldable screens have entered our lives, and we have even begun to see screens that can be extended by swiping.

While the screens that are extended by sliding are still seen in prototype models, Samsung introduced its new screen with this technology today. Display developed in partnership with Samsung Display and Intelwill be used in the computers of the future.

Samsung’s scrollable screen technology:

The new screen, introduced at Intel’s Innovation event, is swiped in one direction. It can convert from 13 inch to 17 inch screen. Of course, this screen is only a prototype for now. Intel or Samsung did not share any information about when the screen will take place in our lives concretely.

On the other hand, Michelle Johnston Holthaus, head of Intel’s PC chips department, also answered a question mark in mind. Holthaus, in this computer, which currently consists of only the screen, the keyboard is connected to the device. Can be placed foldable stated. Of course, theoretically, it can also be placed on the device as a keyboard, bluetooth or magnetic.

On the other hand, Samsung’s new ‘computer’ screen may appear on different devices in the future. The scrollable screen is scaled to different sizes. It can also be used on phones, tablets and even televisions. However, if this technology is developed further, the screen can be completely hidden in a structure and opened by sliding it.
