Samsung Galaxy S25 may come with MediaTek Dimensity

Samsung has already started working on the Galaxy S25 series. The flagship family, which is expected to be released in January, may represent a first for the company. It is said that Samsung may use MediaTek Dimensity for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.

According to allegations in Korea, Samsung wants to combat the increasing prices of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. In this context, it was reported that it will make an agreement with MediaTek and sell the Galaxy S25 series with Dimensity in some regions.

Until now, Samsung has been using Qualcomm Snapdragon or its own Exynos chipsets in the Galaxy S series. For example, the Galaxy S24 series launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in most markets and Exynos 2400 in some regions.

It was expected that Samsung would use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip for the Galaxy S25 series. However, Exynos chips may come back.

With the new rumor, it turns out that Samsung is looking to expand its chipset partners beyond Qualcomm and Samsung LSI (Exynos). In this context, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, Exynos 2500 and Dimensity 9400 can be used depending on the regions.

In order for the chips to go into mass production, this rate must be 60 percent by the third quarter of 2024. It is not yet known whether the MediaTek chip will be used in all S25 models or only in the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. Of the current models, only the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a Qualcomm chip.
