Samsung introduced its new mid-segment smartphone Galaxy A53 in the past months. In a short time, it went on sale in many countries, including Turkey. The device, whose global price is 450 dollars, is currently sold in our country for 9 thousand TL.
Of course, it was possible to buy it at a more affordable price before the last price hikes, that is, between March and May. However, there are many people who think that this model is quite expensive both in our country and in the world. In fact, a comparison was made with its competitors in the same price range. Samsung Galaxy A53, which lags behind its competitors with its performance, is sold more expensive!
As with all other brands, Samsung prices its models according to countries and markets. In other words, just because a device went on sale in the US for $1,000, it is not sold here for the same price. By reducing the profit margin – depending on the model – this price can be reduced to 600-700 dollars. Of course, it goes on sale with taxes added to it.
The biggest example of this could be the A53. The device, which has a price tag of 450 dollars in the rest of the world, especially in the USA, would have been 15 thousand 278 TL if it had been sold at the same price in Turkey. Instead, Samsung has narrowed its profit margin and brought it to our country at $265 and offered it for sale at 8,999TL including taxes.

Known for its proximity to Samsung, SamMobile shared Samsung models that will receive Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update.
Of course, when we convert this amount to dollars, it becomes 520 dollars. In other words, although the profit margin is greatly reduced, we buy it more expensive than the rest of the world. But that’s not the real problem. According to a report by analysts, many of its competitors, which are sold under $ 450 in the global market, manage to overtake the A53.
Pixel’s new favorite is at the top of the list. Pixel 6a uses a processor 50 percent faster than the A53. Xiaomi 12 Lite is 22 percent faster. When we look at the competing ecosystem, we see new iPhone SEs for around $ 420. This device is also 70 percent faster than the A53.
In other words, although Samsung shows sufficient results for the middle segment on the camera and screen side, it is far behind its competitors in terms of processor performance. Moreover, they are positioned on them in terms of price. For this reason, it was subjected to a lot of criticism.
But as we have mentioned, this is not the case in our country. Because iPhone SE, which is sold 30 dollars cheaper than A53 in the USA, is sold for 4 thousand 500 TL more expensive (13 thousand 499 TL) in Turkey. However, when we consider the global sales, we see that the Exynos series is now in the background. Therefore, the company may turn to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 family next year.
