Technology giant Apple released the highly anticipated iOS 16.1 version last week by iPhone users. The iOS 16.1.1 version of the update came with a different feature in China. Apple’s new plan has been revealed.
Apple will limit AirDrop to 10 minutes
It looks like Apple has made a new decision for AirDrop. The company has imposed a time limit on its wireless file sharing feature AirDrop. So iPhone users will have to turn AirDrop back on every 10 minutes to keep it public. The feature is currently only available in China with iOS 16.1. However, the company wants to make this plan global.
The basis of this limitation idea is the confidentiality of information. As it is known, AirDrop allows users to receive all kinds of files, including images and videos, from other users. In the past, this feature was used by protesters in China who sent messages to the media opposing the country’s authoritarian rule.
