In Turkey, there has been a demand for this area for a while due to the increasing sales price of passenger cars. Today, Renault said that it has taken the leading step in the domestic market.
Renault will sell factory-guaranteed used cars!
In these days when we started to forget about Covid-19, the entire technology sector, especially the automotive industry, is trying to clean up the debris left behind the pandemic. So much so that the chip production and logistics industry is still not on its way.
Therefore, disruptions continue in every field from new automobile production to sales. Automotive giants also see the solution in overhauling second-hand passenger cars. So much so that for a while, second-hand cars have been sold from the factory in France and Spain.

An unexpected statement came from the Automotive Distributors Association today. The excise duty on the car can be reset.
According to the news shared by Emre Peynirci today, Oyak Renault, which produces in Bursa, will start trial production in April of next year. In the first place, it will sell second-hand cars up to 6 years old and manufactured in Turkey.
Later, imported models will come into play. Of course, next year, we may see that other domestically produced brands enter this sector, and even the age range increases. But for now, the only thing that is certain is that Renault will renew 30 thousand cars a year to be like new and put them on sale with a guarantee.
When we look at the potential range, we see that there are approximately 600 thousand Renault models between 0-6 years old such as Clio, Megane, Symbol and Captur in active traffic in Turkey. However, although it is already obvious that there will be high demand, it is very difficult for a single brand to revive the market.
However, when we include other brands that make domestic production, we see that it can make a lasting impact in the sector. However, it should be noted that 40 percent of the 13.8 million passenger cars in the traffic in Turkey are scrap.
We can say that the number of vehicles between the ages of 0-6 that brands can use for factory-guaranteed second-hand cars is roughly 3.7 million. The distribution of 13.8 million passenger cars in active traffic by age is as follows:

- 3 years old: 2.07 percent
- 4 years old: 3.47 percent

- 8 years old: 3.86 percent
- 9 years old: 4.30 percent
- 10-15 years old: 20.04 percent
