Record total penalty of $520 million for Fortnite
Fortnite has been sued for manipulating users with its interface and design, specifically to buy kids. As a result of the lawsuit, the popular video game Fortnite was fined $275 million for the privacy of the charges.
In addition to this penalty, Fortnite will also refund $245 million to former users for manipulating children into in-app purchases. So Fortnite, in total, for refunds and penalties for these reasons. 520 million dollars (9,698.416.000,00 Turkish Liras).

Epic Games made the following statements on the subject:
“No developer creates a game with the intention of ending here. We accepted this deal because we want Epic to be at the forefront of consumer protection and provide the best experience for our players.”
Epic Games has addressed the issues on the matter along with the lawsuit. The game production and development company introduced the “Cabin Accounts” feature to disable residual purchases for players under the age of 13. The firm also introduced parental controls in 2019 and did so for free last year. Additionally, the company will delete the data of unconfirmed users who are 13 years old or older due to the lawsuit.
