Dubai Hero stories. We all know her mostly from the big screen or from award-winning bestselling novels. A stage lies right in front of our eyes: It is the lobbies, guest rooms and suites of the hotels where numerous hoteliers made history.
Puneet Chhatwal is one of them. He lived in Europe for 30 years and was the first hotelier with Indian roots to hold the post of CEO of the traditional German Steigenberger hotel chain.
From a distance, the values of a Puneet Chhatwal and the Steigenberger society of that time could not be more different. After a five-year term in office, he turned his back on the then still rigid domestic policy of the hotel chain. Today the culture of the hotel group has changed for the better, the new board is making the Steigenberger hotels excellent.
