Ranking 2022: The best mobile phone contracts

Cologne For a long time, anyone who wanted to switch cell phone providers had to keep an eye on the notice periods. If the period was missed, the contracts could be automatically extended without warning. This practice has not been possible for newly concluded contracts since March. The providers must inform their customers about the extension – and then allow them to opt out monthly.

Since July, the legislature has also made it easier to say goodbye to mobile service providers. Companies that conclude contracts with consumers must now set up a cancellation button on the homepage.

The willingness to change is considerable. In a recent survey, 14 percent of all mobile phone users in Germany stated that they were considering opting out. But who has the right offer?

Not only the big providers Telefónica, Telekom, Vodafone and 1&1 have numerous subsidiary brands, discounters like Aldi and Lidl are also involved. A study offers decision support. The market research institute SWI Finance compared 23 offers for the Handelsblatt. Depending on the user profile, different brands are ahead.
