Ranga Yogeshwar on artificial intelligence and the future of mankind

Dusseldorf In the podcast, the prominent science journalist, physicist and bestselling author Ranga Yogeshwar talks to Handelsblatt editor-in-chief Sebastian Matthes about the disruptive power of artificial intelligence and the question of how technology will change the economy, the world of work and society in general. A completely different education system is needed for a future in which AI plays a greater role, argues Yogeshwar: “Our education system is like a steam engine driving on a freeway, where we would all turn around and say: Oh, that’s it wrong in time,” he says.

But the conversation goes far beyond educational policy and technology. Yogeshwar also gives a personal account of the influence his background has had on his career as a scientist and journalist, and why he studied physics instead of piano. And in the end, the two also approach the question of which ability will be particularly important for a future with artificial intelligence.
