We generally know Qualcomm with the processors it produces for phones. Qualcomm, which has an important place in the Android phone market with Snapdragon processors, stepped into the computer industry last year. The company, which has not been too ambitious in this regard so far, is making important studies for the year 2024.
Qualcomm has caught its eye on AMD and Intel
The processors, codenamed Hamoa, which are expected to arrive in 2024, will rival Intel and AMD. The processor will be offered in 8+4 configuration and will have 12 CPU cores. It is said that the processor, which will have eight performance cores, will host 4 efficiency cores. The processor will also support different graphics cards.
According to the information received, Qualcomm’s processor will use Nuvia’s Phoenix design, which was founded by former Apple engineers. As it is known, engineers working on Apple’s current ARM-based processors left the company and founded Nuvia.
Qualcomm acquired Nuvia last year. By purchasing Nuvia, which set out with the goal of developing high-performance chips, indicating how serious it is about computer processors, Qualcomm is preparing to introduce its first high-performance processor with the year 2024.
With the new core design, Qualcomm processors are expected to become much more efficient. We will soon be able to see the fruits of this very promising work. Thus, we will be able to experience the ARM-based Windows experience in a few years.
It is a matter of curiosity how Intel and AMD will respond after Qualcomm makes a serious investment in the computer processor industry. Do you believe that Qualcomm can be successful in the computer industry? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
