Akbar Al Baker has been at the helm of Qatar Airways since 1997. He’s also known as the terror of aviation, having repeatedly feuded with Boeing and Airbus.

Akbar Al Baker is known as the “Prussian of the air” because of his exuberant discipline and severity. Or also as a horror of aviation, because the head of Qatar Airways has repeatedly argued with Boeing and Airbus and is still arguing to this day.

Often as a pioneer in the industry against aircraft manufacturers, but who sometimes does not accept machines if the special purple color of Qatar and its airline does not seem to hit the spot on seat covers. Since 1997, Al Baker has transformed Qatar Airways from an airline with five aircraft into the world’s largest long-haul airline in terms of passenger-kilometres paid.
