Dusseldorf Actually, says work psychologist Hannes Zacher, procrastinating serves no purpose. “We’re procrastinating for no good reason. This leads to poorer performance and reduced well-being.” However, almost everyone has done it at some point. According to Zacher, a quarter of the population regularly procrastinates. Why?

It is often a widespread fear that can be found in many minds and causes procrastination. Sometimes procrastination arises from being overwhelmed. Cordula Nussbaum, coach and time management expert, observes this with many of her clients. “Many top executives are extremely productive. If they don’t deal with certain topics for a long time, it’s only because there isn’t enough time.” The result: regular night shifts and “last minute” campaigns.
