Although PS2 now has games that are very easy to access for every user and can be easily played on PC with tools such as PCSX2, PS5 got a new emulator for its users to enjoy on their couches without having to deal with anything. However, according to the latest information, this new initiative of Sony was a big disappointment.
The saying ‘If the old things were in demand, the flea market would be flooded with light’ has never been a valid statement in the world of acting. Especially users who are longing for the past with new game trends love to play old games with various emulators. To satisfy this longing of the players, Sony renewed the PS2 emulator and offered it to PS5 users. However, this new emulator fell far short of expectations with its technical glitches and inadequacies.

Nowadays, even the games of a new generation console such as Nintendo Switch can now be easily played in 4K – 60 FPS on the PC. Likewise, games from many generations such as PS3, PSP and PS2 have been playable for PC users for a long time.
In this sense, Sony realized this rising trend and offered some PS2 classics to PS Plus subscribers in 2022. However, due to regional compatibility issues (PAL / NTSC) and problems with 16:9 and 4:3 formats, Sony decided to reconsider the project.

The emulator, where many games such as Sly Cooper, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Star Wars: The Clone Wars are offered to users, has many features such as playing with default visuals, CRT (tube) television effect and ‘modern’ visuals.
