Price of diesel additive jumps to record high

Dusseldorf German freight forwarders are still deeply shocked by the recent skyrocketing rise in the price of diesel fuel. But now the next burden is already rolling towards the industry: the diesel additive Adblue, which is essential for the operation of trucks, has risen in price in recent weeks to an almost unimaginable record level.

In the past, 100 liters of Adblue only cost a good 13 euros, but the prices for the exhaust gas cleaner have been climbing steeply since last year. They are now at 76 euros for 100 liters. In particular, the outbreak of the Ukraine war has doubled the costs again, as shown by calculations by the industry service Argus Media, which are exclusively available to the Handelsblatt.
