eagerly awaited on March 23 Arbitrum altcoin The Arbitrum team managing its airdrop is facing hacking and theft issues affecting its users.

CertiK Recommends Not Clicking Any Link On Arbitrum Altcoin Official Discord Server

CertiK, a blockchain security company, tweeted on March 25. cryptocurrency warned its community of a phishing link posted on the official Arbitrum Discord server. The company advised the community to refrain from clicking any links until the Arbitrum team regains control of the server.

The following was shared on the CertiK official Twitter account:

“We are receiving notifications that a phishing link has been posted on the Arbitrum Discord Server. Do not click any links until the team confirms that they have regained control of the server.”

Hackers who took over the Discord account of one of the main altcoin developers of Arbitrum sent a fake link from this account to the official Arbitrum Discord channel. The link was very similar to the original Arbitrum airdrop claim website, but contained a minor typo.

Per the announcement, the Arbitrum altcoin team allegedly revealed that some requirements were not met during the March 23 airdrop. The scammers therefore lied that it was decided to organize an extra airdrop to allow all affected Arbitrum (ARB) users to “reclaim” their bonuses and rewards.

The scammers stated that the additional airdrop can only be accessed through the link they shared.

Hackers asked users to check their eligibility by signing a message. Obviously, this was a phishing link designed to steal users’ seed phrases and drain funds from their Arbitrum (ARB) wallets.
