Poll: Is the Number of Cryptocurrency Investors Increasing?

A recent survey in Australia by the 2021 Independent Reserve Cryptocurrency Index (IRCI) showed that the number of cryptocurrency investors is increasing in the country. According to the results of the survey, in which more than 2 thousand people participated, the number of crypto money investors increased from 18.4% last year to 28.8% this year.

The aforementioned survey results show that the growth in the cryptocurrency sector is due to the positive experiences of crypto investors, and their earnings are increasing thanks to cryptocurrencies. Because 89% of respondents stated that they make money through cryptocurrencies.

In an interview with Cointelegraph, noting that cryptocurrencies have outperformed other assets over the past year, Independent Reserve CEO Adrian Przelozny said:

“I think it’s quite natural for more and more people to be interested in an asset class that is clearly outpacing the rest of the market.”

Of those surveyed and not investing, 28.6% said they would invest if they had better consumer protections, while 26.6% said they would invest in crypto if industry regulation was improved.

Przelozny said the crypto industry still needs regulation to provide greater security for both investors and cryptocurrency businesses.

“I think we will see a whole new class of investors in this space when regulations come into play. And I think that’s what we’re seeing in other jurisdictions like Singapore.”

According to the results of the survey, which are not surprising, the group that most trusts cryptocurrencies was the age group of 24 to 34. 27.6% of this group announced that they invested in crypto money to become rich.

The majority of those who participated in the survey and said that they did not believe in the cryptocurrencies system were people over the age of 65. Przelozny said he predicts that if the regulatory issues on this issue are resolved, Australians over 65 will create the next big wave of investors.

Finally, according to IRCI’s survey, Bitcoin is the best known and most popular cryptocurrency. Because 89.1% of the participants stated that they had heard of Bitcoin, and 21.1% said that they had Bitcoin.

The second most popular crypto asset after Bitcoin was Ethereum with 11% ownership.
