Blockchain security expert SlowMist has warned of increasing phishing attacks against the ecosystem of Telegram-connected blockchain platform The Open Network (TON).
The TON ecosystem, which features a variety of decentralized applications (DApps) and TON blockchain-based tokens, is increasingly targeted by phishing attacks amid turbulent growth in 2024, according to Slowmist.
Slowmist founder said the following in his post on his X account:
“Phishing has begun to increase in the TON ecosystem. The Telegram ecosystem is very free.
Many phishing links (or bot forms) are spread through message groups, airdrops and other deception methods are used to hijack relevant assets (including NFTs, especially NFTs).
Like Anonymous Telegram Numbers, which are similar to mobile phone numbers in users’ TON wallets, many people use them to create Telegram accounts. Many people use it to create Telegram accounts, which means that if it is stolen or unless two-step verification is enabled, the relevant Telegram account can also be stolen.
Phishing attack methods are basically the same, so be careful.”
While the price of Toncoin (TON) also decreased in parallel with the decline in Bitcoin (BTC) and the general crypto market, experts stated that if the network does nothing to avoid these attacks, it poses a risk for the TON price and further declines can be expected.
TON, which has decreased by 6.1% in the last 24 hours, continues to be traded at $ 7.14 at the time of writing.
