Pfizer is doing well despite the corona losses – Uber is increasing its revenues sharply

Deutsche Post starts the year with declines

The years of records are over for Deutsche Post. Because of the economic consequences of the Ukraine war and the sluggish world economy, the Bonn-based logistics giant, which has been rushing to new highs in the past, had to accept declines in sales and profits in the first quarter, as it announced on Wednesday. Revenues fell from January to March to 20.9 (previous year: 22.6) billion euros, the operating result (EBIT) shrank by 24.1 percent to 1.6 billion euros. According to Refinitiv data, analysts had expected average sales of 20.9 billion euros and EBIT of around 1.46 billion euros.

The group confirmed its profit targets for 2023: Due to the continuing uncertainty about the course of the economic recovery, the EBIT forecast for 2023 includes three scenarios and is in a range of 6.0 to 7.0 billion euros – significantly below the operating income of the previous year of 8.4 billion euros.
